I saw this gorgeous Scandinavian-inspired blanket in Simply Crochet magazine recently and wanted to make it straight away. I used 18 balls of DROPS Alaska in Off White (100% wool, 50g/70m) plus 2 or so balls of DROPS Big Delight in Wild Berries (08) (100% wool, 100g/190m). The instructions told me I need 5 balls of Wild Berries which was far too much so I think I will make a cushion or something with the left overs. I also used a 6.0mm crochet hook. The pattern is by Helen Nurse.
The pattern involves a lot of intarsia and therefore having to carry the unused yarn along the wrong side of the work, which can get fiddly with so many bits of yarn! This is such a warm and cosy blanket and it really didn’t take that long to make.
OMG – that is stunning!! I found some brilliant Scandinavian embroidery patterns recently …. Suddenly feeling all inspired! xxx
Lovely to see my blanket has actually been made by someone
Looks great!
